Maria Paola Guarducci

Maria Paola Guarducci is Associate Professor of English Literature at Roma Tre University (Italy), where she has been teaching since 2008. Her research interests focus on African literatures in English, particularly South African literature, modern and contemporary British literature and on relationships between the British literary canon and the Empire. She is author of Dopo l’interregno. Il romanzo sudafricano e la transizione (Rome, 2008) and of several articles published in Italian and English on Jane Austen, Joseph Conrad, W.M. Thackeray, Samuel Beckett, Sam Selvon, George Lamming, Monica Ali, South African women’s poetry, Ngugi wa Thiong’o, etc. She has recently edited the Italian translation of The Planter of Malata (Il coltivatore di Malata, Roma, Edizioni Croce) by Joseph Conrad.
